A 1/2" Overlay means that one half-inch of the cabinet frame is exposed around all the doors and drawers. This has also been called "Traditional Overlay".
A Full Overlay means that there is minimal cabinet frame that is exposed around the doors and drawers. Our standard tolerance is 1/4" reveal around the doors and drawers.
A Framed cabinet construction consists of the cabinet back, floor, sides, and a front stabilizing frame anchoring the box together. The cabinet door is attached to the front frame, which is made of 3/4" thick solid wood material, and is generally 1 1/2" wide.
An Overlay door will rest in front of the cabinet frame / case.
An Inset door will rest inside the cabinet frame / case.
Flush Inset keeps a sharp squared profile around the door and drawer openings.
The Beaded inset adds a routed edge on the inside of the door and drawer openings.
This is a premium construction option.
A Frameless case construction consists of the cabinet back, floor, and sides. With no front frame, this construction option excels in maximizing storage capacity.
The doors and drawer fronts are slightly larger to cover the cabinet case. A smaller reveal (space) between the doors and drawers completes the sleek appearance.
