Framed Construction

A 1/2" Overlay means that one half-inch of the cabinet frame is exposed around all the doors and drawers.  This has also been called "Traditional Overlay".

A Full Overlay means that there is minimal cabinet frame that is exposed around the doors and drawers. Our standard tolerance is 1/4" reveal around the doors and drawers.

Framed Construction

A Framed cabinet construction consists of the cabinet back, floor, sides, and a front stabilizing frame anchoring the box together.  The cabinet door is attached to the front frame, which is made of 3/4" thick solid wood material, and is generally 1 1/2" wide.

An Overlay door will rest in front of the cabinet frame / case.

An Inset door will rest inside the cabinet frame / case.

To accommodate the hardware, our standard wall cabinet depth on the inset cabinets becomes 13".

The Beaded inset adds a routed edge on the inside of the door and drawer openings.

Our tolerance for a reveal around the doors and drawers is 3/32".

Frameless Construction

Frameless Construction

Frameless Construction

A Frameless case construction consists of the cabinet back, floor, and sides.  This style of cabinet has also been referred to as "European" or "Full Access".  A different type of cabinet hinge is utilized to secure the cabinet door to the side of the cabinet case.
